How did you decide on the contents for your website?
Did you discuss it with those who best understand your business such as
your staff? Or better still, did you have input from people who least
understand your business and have never used your services?
People visiting your website may not fully understand your industry so would the contents of your website draw them to you? Click here to read how a well known coffee house used its website to attract people who wouldn’t step inside its doors. If you would like Zarr to organise a discussion to identify whether your website is structured and worded correctly to attract prospective clients then please contact Hannah on 01788 561778. We can contribute our experience of running online businesses and also designing over 100 websites into the discussion.
Top tip
If your website is
hosted by Zarr, we can provide facilities to allow you to track the exact
number of click-thrus from online directories such as Yell.com. Then, when
you login to the administration area for your website, you can see the
number of click throughs per day, as well as the normal visitor and traffic
information. To find out more, please contact Mark on 01788 561778.
New addition
Zarr warmly welcomes new recruit, Vicky Cudworth, to our team. Vicky has been working as Zarr’s Office Manager since October 2003 and joined Zarr full time earlier this month.

Awards successes
Congratulations to two of Zarr's clients who are finalists in the forthcoming Coventry Evening Telegraph Business Awards. ATL Solutions is competing in the Information, Communications and Technology category with their MYITHelp.info
website and Find Your Ideal Business Partner will be competing in the Business Innovation category. Both companies have worked hard on developing innovative ideas and deserve every success.
What's the blog?
A blog, or web log, is an online diary. People can use it to write about
experiences they have. There is no need for an editor or a publisher. It
appears immediately and cannot be scrutinised, so it really is free
writing.
How can my organisation benefit from blogging? Your blogs can enhance the level of customer service you give by allowing customers and suppliers access to useful information to better understand your services. They make you sticky - in other words they give people a reason to return to your website. If people were allowed to use the company's website in this way to share their personal experiences, then the site would regularly be updated without the company having to spend its own time on it. If you want ideas as to how your individual organisation could benefit from blogging please contact Vicky on 01788 561778 and she can discuss ideas with you.
Making your website legal
All too often, companies jump on the e-commerce bandwagon without being
fully aware of their legal responsibilities. There are some very simple,
but important, pieces of information that must be included on every
website that is offering items for sale - failure to include these details
mean breaking the law and risking fines or worse, site closure.
And getting it right is actually very simple - the following details must be included on your site and must be available before a purchase is made. The details must be in an obvious place and should include:
